Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (January 16, 2020)
Few, if any, anime have the impact and legacy of Dragon Ball Z, and because of that we’ve seen countless games over the years. Still, Kakarot, in a way, introduces a new experience, one that lets you take on the role of Goku in a semi-open-world action RPG.
The game again covers everything from the Saiyan Saga to the Buu Saga, but apart from the major moments of the story and the battles, you can actually walk around and explore the world of Dragon Ball Z.
As you explore, you may encounter a variety of characters from the Dragon Ball series, not just those involved in the main story. You can bond with these characters and sometimes you’ll even form groups or play with other characters like Vegeta.
You will also be able to participate in side activities like fishing or training, all to further improve Goku’s skills. Kakarot looks like it could be a unique twist on the Dragon Ball video game formula, and given its development by CyberConnect2, the creators of the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
