Season 2 release confirmed for fan-favorite anime series

On any major platform, you have the ability to go from an epic adventure series that makes you scream to a tragic love story that will make you cry.

In 2021, fans watched with tears in their eyes as Brain’s Base’s hit adaptation of Fumetsu no Anata eaka To Your Eternity premiered with an amazing first season.

However, as one door closes, another opens – the To Your Eternity Season 2 release window has recently been confirmed online!

To Your Eternity renewed for a season 2…

the announcement regarding To Your Eternity season 2 was shared on August 30, 2021, just hours before the season 1 finale aired in Japan.

Anime renewals usually depend on two factors; source material and popularity. Luckily, To Your Eternity had enough of both to secure a second anime season.

According to Monsters and criticsthe end of season 1 of To Your Eternity adapted until chapter 54 of volume 6 of the manga series.

However, a total of 16 volumes spread over 146 chapters have been published in Japan – which means there’s enough source material for at least one, if not two more anime seasons!

To Your Eternity also received overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and critics around the world. At the time of writing, the TV series scores an impressive 8.7/10 on IMDB4.7/5 on Crunchyroll and 8.42/10 on MyListAnimethe latter being made up of more than 196,000 individual reviews.

To Your Eternity season 2 rrelease confirmed…

In addition to confirming the continuation of the series, the official Japanese To Your Eternity website revealed that season 2 will be released as part of the fall anime slate in 2022.

It was recently reaffirmed by the series’ official website, with a new promotional image shared – see below.

“TO YOUR ETERNITY Season 2 teaser visual is here! An original artwork by character designer Koji Yabuno, the artwork depicts Fushi the Immortal with a sweet smile on his face. What new encounters await him? Stay tuned listen to find out! TO YOUR ETERNITY Season 2 is set to begin airing in Fall 2022.” – Blog post, via

Although a specific date has yet to be revealed, fans should expect Season 2 Episode 1 to air on Monday, October 3 or Monday, October 10.

This would not only be consistent with the start of the fall slate for global streaming, but would also maintain the same programming block in Japan as the first season.

Season 2’s quick turnaround is not just due to the expert planning of the Brain’s Base production team, but the availability of source material.

As mentioned earlier, there are ten complete manga volumes available for adaptation, which greatly shortens the production schedule for any anime project.

However, fans should note that the episode number for the following season has not been confirmed. Season 1 consisted of an unusual run of 20 episodes; will this continue in season 2 or will production shift to a more traditional split-court broadcast?

Potential plot for season 2…

Spoiler Warning: This section will give a brief overview of the manga’s upcoming story arcs that are expected to be adapted into Season 2.

Assuming a second season would also cover a similar amount of source material as the first installment, we would expect the following arcs to be adapted in Season 2:

  • The Arc of the Guardians: Chapters 56 to 62
  • Uralis Kingdom Arc: Chapters 63-70
  • Bennett’s Church Arch: Chapters 71–82
  • Renril Arc: Chapter 83 – 116

Adapting up to Chapter 116 would not only be enough for an entire anime season, but would also set up a potential third season that would span the “Second Act” series, aka the Current Era arc.

Opening the second season would probably be The Arc of the Guardians, where four decades have passed and Fushi has been alone on a desert island since Pioran died of old age. However, he comes to meet both Hayase’s granddaughter and a group of “guardians” who see Fushi as a deity.

This article will be updated as soon as we have more information about To Your Eternity Season 2.
