Tomb Raider Anime Series adds two voice actors to the cast


Square Enix has made several announcements regarding the grave robber Thursday, including new cast information for the upcoming animated series slated to hit Netflix later this year.

In a new post on the series’ website, the company and grave robber Anime series showrunner Tasha Huo has announced that Allen Maldonado has joined the cast as Zip, while Earl Baylon will join the series to voice Jonah Maiava. Maldonado (Project Power) is best known for his role as Curtis on the hit television series Blackish and recently starred in Maya and the threewhile Baylon will once again voice Jonas, who he voiced in the grave robber, The Rise of the Tomb Raiderand Shadow of the Tomb Raider video games.

Based on Square Enix’s action-adventure video game franchise, the grave robber anime was first announced earlier this year. It will be written and produced by Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Origin of Blood). Ready to pick up after the events of the famous reboot trilogy that ended with 2018s Shadow of the Tomb Raiderthe series will trace the last and greatest adventure of the globetrotting heroine as she continues to explore new territories.

The new Netflix anime will be executive produced by dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (sonic the hedgehog), Stephan Bugaj, Howard Bliss and Jacob Robinson for Tractor Pants.

Currently, MGM is developing a grave robber sequel to the 2018 Alicia Vikander-directed action movie, starring Lovecraft Country creator attached to the helm and writing the project. Despite her long development period, the Oscar-winning actress is still expected to return to her starring role.
